About Me

My name is Trudy, wife, mother and very proud nanna.  My first baking business was established in 2011.  Having left my office job in September 2021  (I should have taken the plunge years ago!) it was then that "The Moist Bakery" was born!  Yes its a name that's a bit like marmite, you love it or hate it, but the fact remained that the description of my bakes always contained the word "moist" from reviews and feedback from my customers.  In the baking world this is one of the biggest compliments I could receive.....no one likes dry cake......do they?? 

While my main goal has always been to create tasty cakes that everyone will love, I'm also incredibly passionate about the artistry of cake designing. Being able to create a cake that will put a smile on someone’s face has always been my  greatest joy.  I'm always excited to work with my customers to create delicious pieces of art.

I work at the highest standards for everyone no matter how big or small your order is.  Yes, many MANY hours can go into making a bespoke cake.  I'd love to change my pricing to a "day rate" hahah, I might recoup some of the unpaid hours I always seem to put in, but for once in my life I can honestly say I LOVE MY JOB! even if being in this industry does not make me rich, it helps to pay the bills.  Time off and trips away?? well, that's what husbands are for.....
